Approximately 7 miles south of Cape Cod on the Massachusetts coast sits an island called Marthas Vineyard. Approximately 100 square miles, the island is the largest island in the New England area. Oaks Bluff is very well-known for its entertainment and night life, and Vineyard Haven for its shopping. Bed and Breakfasts can be found in the old sea captains homes in Edgartown. Accommodations can also be found in Menemsha, Chilmark and West Tisbury on the upper end of the island. It is usually necessary to book reservations well ahead of visiting because of its popularity as a tourist attraction.
